Vocational Interest
What kind of work a person finds engaging or enjoyable, distinct from their skills, personality traits, or job market demand.
Vocational interest measures what you'd like to spend your time doing at work, separate from your skill level at it or how well it pays. The RIASEC model is the most widely used framework for measuring it.
It's a useful starting point for career decisions precisely because it's narrower than a full personality profile, it answers one specific, practical question rather than trying to describe your whole personality.
