The Enneagram combines an older symbolic diagram with 20th-century psychological typing work. Unlike the Big Five, there's no single dominant public-domain instrument, the best-known commercial version, the RHETI, is proprietary and trademarked.
Because of that, treat your result here as a self-reflection tool rather than a clinically validated measurement, we say so plainly rather than overstating what the Enneagram can prove.

Is the Enneagram scientifically validated?
It doesn't carry the same peer-reviewed evidence base as trait models like the Big Five. Treat it as a framework for self-reflection and conversation, not a clinical diagnostic.
What is an Enneagram wing?
A wing is the type next to your primary type on the Enneagram diagram that also shapes your personality. Most people identify with traits from one of their two possible wings.
Can my Enneagram type change if I retake the test?
Your primary type usually stays fairly stable, but your answers can shift with self-awareness and life circumstances, especially between closely scored types.
What's the difference between a type and a wing?
Your type is your core motivation. Your wing is the neighboring type that adds shading to it, it doesn't change your core type, just how it's expressed.
How is the Enneagram different from the 16 Types test?
The Enneagram centers on core motivation and fear; the 16 Types test scores four separate dichotomies inspired by Jungian typology. They describe personality from different angles.
Do all Enneagram tests give the same result?
Not necessarily. Different questionnaires word their items differently, and since there's no single public-domain standard instrument, results can vary slightly between tests.
Is this test appropriate for teenagers?
It's built for general self-reflection rather than any specific age group, but as with any personality framework, younger teens' answers may shift more as their identity is still developing.
Can I use my Enneagram type for career decisions?
It can add perspective, but treat it as a supplement to a proper career-interest tool like our RIASEC-based career test, not a replacement for it.
Do you sell or share my answers?
No. Your answers are scored entirely in your browser and are never sent to a server, so there is nothing about your responses for us to sell or share.
